How We Started! In 2009, professional artist, mom, and environmentalist Leah Fanning had a large gallery exhibition planned and needed to paint full-time for a year to prepare for it. She also found out she was pregnant with her first child around the same time. So, to protect her baby's health, she ditched every toxic art supply . But what was the alternative to conventional paintsLeah drew inspiration from the cave painters through the Renaissance masters and took to nature to find her supplies. "I actually went into the woods and harvested all the pigments myself," she recalls, smiling. "I would never leave home without a trowel and a bag. If I saw beautiful colors in the strata on the roadside, I would jump out of my car and gather the pigments." She discovered that using natural pigments and binders to creates paintings that are more radiant and archival, and without fillers, natural paints have a brilliant luminosity that can't be found anywhere else. Soon after Natural Earth Paint was born. | For the Professional Most professional grade art supplies are made by using toxic preservatives, heavy metals, solvents, synthetics, additives and fillers. For the professional artist this makes it that much more challenging to enjoy doing your work and stay healthy while doing it. The environmental impact of toxic art supplies is also incredibly harmful to our water supply and air quality. Leah created many products for the professional artist including petroleum-free Natural Acrylik Medium, the Complete Non-toxic Oil Paint Kit, Natural Watercolor Kit, Eco-solve, Eco Gesso Kit and more. She is in the process of creating a new product line of non-toxic Natural Acrylik Paint tubes. Available summer 2023! | Non-Toxic Paint for Kids! When her baby turned one she learned that almost all conventional children's art supplies that say "non-toxic" on the label, are in fact filled with many toxic preservatives, carcinogens, petroleum-based dyes and heavy metals. Her mission was now clear - to create very high quality, vibrant paint and art supplies that are truly non-toxic, natural, and sustainably made with children in mind. With many months of hard work she created Natural Earth Paint an Non-Toxic easy to clean children's paint. Soon after, Leah created a wonderful non-toxic, high quality Face Paint. The Natural Face Paint is a kid favorite and is now a staple for many families during Halloween and celebrations! | Plant Based & Recycled Packaging If you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk.
