What is N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) Powder?

N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) is a precursor to the powerful antioxidant Glutathione. NAC together with the Amino Acids Glycine and Glutamine, replenish Glutathione.

L-Cysteine can be found naturally in the body as well as in foods such as chicken, pork, garlic and eggs.

Supplementing with L-Cysteine alone can be extremely unstable, whereas N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is a much more stable form.

The specific form NAC can’t be obtained via the diet. N-Acetyl L-Cysteine also helps regulate levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate.
