Quinoa originated in South America, more precisely in the Andes, where it was cultivated thousands of years ago and grown as a staple.The red quinoa is also an optical eye -catcher in the kitchen.It is particularly suitable as a protein source and ingredient in vegan cuisine.The quinoa can be used in muesli and porridge as well as for baking or slightly roasted as topping of salads.In terms of nature, Quinoa does not contain any gluten (however, there can always be something in the processing process), it includes natural protein, minerals such as iron and magnesium, as well as essential amino acids such as lysine, tryptophan and cystine.Strictly speaking, Quinoa is not a grain, so like amaranth and buckwheat, it is also referred to as pseudo -cereals because it is used in the kitchen just like grain.

Seinen Ursprung hat Quinoa in Südamerika, genauer in den Anden, wo er schon vor tausenden von Jahren kultiviert und als Grundnahrungsmittel angebaut wurde. Das rote Quinoa ist außerdem auch noch ein optischer Hingucker in der Küche. Gut geeignet ist es vor allem als Eiweissquelle und Zutat in der veganen Küche. Den Quinoa kann man in Müsli und Porridge ebenso verwenden, wie zum Backen oder leicht geröstet als Topping von Salaten. Von Natur aus enthält Quinoa kein Gluten (es kann jedoch über die Verarbeitungsprozesse immer etwas hineingelangen), es beinhaltet natürliches Eiweiß, Mineralien wie Eisen und Magnesium, sowie essentielle Aminosäuren, wie Lysin, Tryptophan und Cystin. Quinoa ist streng genommen kein Getreide, es wird daher wie Amaranth und Buchweizen auch, als Pseudogetreide bezeichnet, weil es in der Küche genau so wie Getreide verwendet wird.
