First-Generation Farmer

Started and operated by a first-generation farmer, Farmer Bob grew up in the suburbs but always wanted to be involved with agriculture. After venturing out and purchasing a 40 Acre farm, he set out to learn as much as he could about raising a crop. After settling on popcorn, the education really started! There is so much to learn and so many things to pay attention to in producing popcorn to get the very best crop.

When you purchase any Princeton Popcorn brand product, you are directly helping a first-generation farmer to succeed. It is farmer Bob's mission to prove that you can be a first-generation farmer and make it work!

One Farmer, One Field

The popcorn you purchase has a traceable and very short supply line. Farmer Bob grows the popcorn that is sold under the Princeton Popcorn brand. He insists on that so he is able to know with certainty the high quality and condition of the popcorn.

Most popcorn operations produce a product that consists of a blend of popcorn grown on contract for a company by many farmers. Those farmers are often rewarded based on quantity with a baseline quality. Then, the popcorn is all mixed together to even out the quality.

Princeton Popcorn's popcorn comes directly from Farmer Bob's fields. So, the quality is consistently excellent.

Seed-to-Store - Vertically Integrated Popcorn Company

Knowing the source of your food is important. Most popcorn companies purchase popcorn as a commodity and then pop and flavor it. Or, package unpopped popcorn kernels which are purchased wholesale in bulk. Princeton Popcorn handles each step from planting the seed to delivering it to the store. We sell the popcorn we grow!

Ready-to-Eat Popcorn

Although we currently only offer unpopped popcorn, we do plan to have a ready-to-eat product available soon. It will be popped, flavored, and packaged and available for purchase so you can open the bag and eat it. Our production facility is betting set up now!

Extra Large, Round & Mushroom Shaped Popcorn

You truly will never see any popcorn like this in your life. When popped with an air popper, hot oil or a stove top, the kernels blossom into a large, mushroom shaped delicious ball of popcorn. Our customers have said that it is the biggest popcorn they have ever seen, reminding them of their nostalgic state fair days! Not recommended for microwave popping. The kernels will pop but won't maintain a consistent mushroom shape or achieve full size.

From the Farm by a First Generation Farmer - What to expect

This is produced on-farm. We do not over-process our product so expect some chipped, cracked or partial kernels. We do a first-run at 'cleaning' the popcorn which is very effective. We elect to not process the kernels through another process that would eliminate the less desirable kernels in favor of not risking the condition of the good kernels. Each step in handling the kernels with machines increase the risk of damage! We package by volume and not by actual weight. Therefore, the final weight of the package may differ from batch to batch. Weights listed are for reference.
