Clear Locust (Carob) Bean Gum

Locust bean gum, also known as carob bean gum, is a natural food additive derived from the seeds of the Mediterranean carob or locust bean tree.

Its origin lies in grinding the carob seeds into a fine powder. Locust bean gum is water-soluble and has neither distinct taste nor odour.

INGREDIENTS: Clear Locust (Carob) Bean Gum (E410), Dextrose

Our Clear Locust Bean Gum is a pure refined locust bean gum, standardised

with dextrose in order to give a uniformed performance.

How to Use: our Clear Locust Bean Gum is dispersible in cold water and

totally soluble at temperatures >85°C. Insoluble in vegetable oils, minerals

and organic solvents. Thickening occurs when the heated solution becomes

cold. It is used as a stabiliser and thickener in food applications where a

highly refined very transparent locust been gum is required.

N.B: These are guidelines only. For best results follow recipe quantities and

instructions.
