About Us

Mount Lai tools are designed to work on the lymphatic system, address adhesions in the fascia and melt tension in the facial and jaw muscles, promoting a radiant complexion + combatting fine lines and wrinkles.

We believe in wisdom through the ages. Our products are based around Traditional Chinese Medicine practices that have been passed down through generations, inspired by founder Stephanie Zheng's grandmother. Our skincare products are formulated in collaboration with Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, using herbs intentionally selected for their healing and beneficial properties that have been studied extensively throughout history.

Behind the Name

Our name Mount Lai plays homage to Mount Penglai from Chinese mythology. There are magical fruits that grow on this mountain with healing powers. Not only do they cure injuries and disease but also grant eternal youth. We adopted the name Mount Lai because our mission is to be a source of wellness + healing for you.

01 | Why is lymphatic drainage important The lymphatic system is a part of the immune system that helps the body get rid of toxins and waste. If the lymphatic system is not functioning well, it can result in fluid build up which may result in puffy skin.

02 | The benefits of lymphatic drainage are two-fold. Lymphatic drainage removes toxic and congestive substances from the tissues, which allows greater absorption of nutrients. Besides aiding with lymphatic drainage, gua sha massage stimulates circulation and blood flow.

03 | Why is using a tool better than using your hands The beauty of Mount Lai tools is that they work on the skin without pulling. As a result, the tool is able to work on the very surface level of the skin to target the lymph system and fascia that you wouldn't be able to target with your hands. Tools allow you to work more evenly on the entire face and target pressure points more precisely than you would get with just your hands alone.

How to Use

- Start with a clean face and prep skin with a facial oil or serum.

- Keep the tool flat against the face and begin with the forehead. Scrape in an upwards motion from the eyebrows to the hairline.

- Move to the cheeks and scrape in an outwards motion starting from the crease of the nose until the ear.

- Move to the jawline and use the end of the gua sha tool with the two curves. Start from the chin and scrape until the ear.

- For the under-eye area, very gently scrape the gua sha tool from the inner corner of the eye outwards to the temple.
