Preparation and Usage - Five Steps to Perfect Rice Gently squeeze the pouch to separate the rice. Cut or tear a small opening in the corner of the pouch - about 2cm should do it. Place the pouch upright on a microwavable plate and heat for the amount of time recommended for your microwave. Remove the pouch carefully from the microwave and fully open the top.
