Mikki Classic grooming products are made with both you and your pet in mind. Their ergonomic design helps to reduce common strains associated with the repetitive actions required to groom our pets well.

Undercoat rakes are an essential part of your grooming kit if you have a double or thick coated dog. They pull out dead and shedding coat without cutting or damaging the healthy coat.

Removing dead undercoat from your dog's coat, not only makes them look better, it also makes them feel better too. Dead undercoat can be itchy, heavy and cause matts in your dog's coat which can be uncomfortable for them.

How to use

*	Ideal for large double coated breeds like Akitas, Alaskan Malamutes, Huskies, Newfoundlands, German Shepherds and Retrievers to name a few.
*	Run the rake through your dog's coat applying no more pressure than you would brushing your own hair. Allow the spinning stainless steel teeth to gently tease through any tangles in the coat.
*	Gently saw the rake back and forth to loosen any undercoat tangles and remove any loose or dead hair.
*	While you are doing this, take time to look and feel over each part of your pet. Knowing your pet's contours and form helps you to know what is normal, so you can quickly identify and seek advice for anything that is new or unusual.
*	The finish off, use a Mikki Brush to layer the coat and create a beautiful end result. If your pet is moulting and your house shows the effect - use a Mikki Pet Hair Magnet to help restore your home to its former glory!

5 Steps to Grooming Success - By Mikki

The first step is to check your dog from top to bottom checking their ears, eyes, nose, coat and nails. This is the part where you should make sure there are no irregular lumps or bumps on their bodies and remove all ticks and fleas.
Grooming out is necessary to remove knots and tangles. However, if the dog is smooth coated gentle grooming products such as the grooming gloves come in handy, allowing you to gently stroke your dog down whilst spending some quality time pampering them. For long or double coated breeds any undercoat and moulting issues should be dealt with. You also need to eliminate any big knots or tangles at this stage.
Bath time! Lather up and shampoo your dog using a product designed specifically for their coat or skin type. This is where Mikki shines, boasting an extensive range. When bath time is over make sure you dry your dog’s coat thoroughly by blow drying on a low heat or leaving to stand dry.
Use the Mikki Scissors, perfect for trimming down and tidying up, to follow the style or ‘design’ for your specific breed of dog. Our Ear & Face Care Kit is perfect for trimming unwanted hair out of eyes and around ears to help keep them clear and infection free. The rounded tips offer extra safety when trimming around these sensitive areas. If your dog is wire coated, use a Mikki Stripping Knife to help you strip the coat and keep their wiry texture while tidying up their appearance.
Dogs aren't usually the biggest fans of having their nails cut, hence the reason this exercise is often left until last! To avoid the risk of stressing them use Mikki's Nail Clippers which have guards, ensuring you don't cut too close to the quick. Finally use the Nail File to smooth any rough edges and complete your pet’s pawdicure!
