The Grown for Good Framework
As a global leader in flavor, McCormick is committed to promoting the continuous improvement of sustainable sourcing of herbs and spices. To underscore our commitment to sustainable sourcing, we developed Grown for Good. Grown for Good is a first-of-its-kind framework for the herbs and spices industry to drive change and impact through sustainable sourcing. The initiative was designed to impact three key areas: Ethical and Safe Supply Chains, Regenerative Production Systems, and Resilient Communities. The aims of Grown for Good include helping to provide economic stability for farmers, and gender equality and women’s empowerment, as well as biodiversity conservation and regenerative farming practices.

McCormick Black Pepper
McCormick engages with the farming communities where our ingredients are grown, so that we can improve the reliability and environmental impact of our business, and support these communities and their livelihoods. We have been working with over 2,500 black pepper farmers in Vietnam to implement sustainable agricultural practices that enable farmers to obtain a higher price for their products and protect their local ecosystems. The program supports over 2,000 black pepper farmers, at least 30% of whom are women, and impacts 2,992 hectares of black pepper farms managed sustainably and under certification.

McCormick Vanilla
Supporting the vanilla farming community starts with empowering its farmers. McCormick has supported over 4,000 vanilla farmers by increasing their crop yields, providing access to finance, and developing youth entrepreneurship opportunities. McCormick works with local partners to provide direct support, such as agricultural training, to over 16,000 vanilla farmers in Madagascar and Indonesia. In partnership with local entities, McCormick has developed direct sourcing programs for farmers in Madagascar and Indonesia to improve the quality of their products, improve the lives of farmers, and build transparency through the supply chain.
