Malay Taste Sambal Oelek is a basic paste or sauce made by blending chillies. Sambal is used as a base or in Rempah (spice paste) for cooking. It can also be served as a condiment at the dinner table. Used extensively in Malaysia. Simply spread thinly over steak or fish (perfect for mackerel) before grilling, or mix with mayonnaise to make a delicious dip for cooked prawns. May also be added to any dish to give it the heat of chilli and the sour of cane vinegar. Use with caution as it is hot. INGREDIENTS Water, dried chilli, cane vinegar, sugar, salt, modified corn starch.

Suitable for vegetarians. Store in cool, dry place. Free from artificial colours, flavourings and preservatives. Hot chilli flavours. Use as condiment or a spice paste for curries.
