Peppermint Essential Oil Peppermint, (Mentha ×piperita) is herb of the mint family (Lamiaceae). It has long been used as a deterrent for cats because they are repelled by the strong smell.	Citronella Essential Oil Citronella is a member of a class of organic substances called terpenes and the oil is obtained from the leaves of the oil grasses Cymbopogon nardus and C. winterianus. Citronella is a completely natural cat deterrent.	Lavender Essential Oil Lavender's Latin name is Lavandula. Lavandin is a cross between two Lavandula species: L. angustifolia and L. latifolia.
