Install a new radio in your Ford truck

You bought a 2015-21 Ford pickup — it's a great vehicle, but its dashboard makes it difficult to upgrade the factory radio. The iDatalink KIT-FTR1 factory system adapter (along with the Maestro ADS-MRR module, sold separately) gives you everything you need to install an aftermarket double-DIN (4" tall) stereo and wire it up to your Ford pickup with its 4.3" My Ford radio. With any car stereo, this package retains your amplifier and backup camera (if equipped), along with your steering wheel audio controls.

iDatalink to the rescue

Install an iDatalink-compatible car stereo from Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Sny, or Pioneer, and you'll also retain your truck's SYNC features, including hands-free calling and music streaming. You'll also retain the fader control and full functionality of your factory amplifier, along with your rear seat entertainment system (if present). You can set up gauges on your new car stereo's touchscreen to check engine performance and other vehicle data, such as tire pressure, battery voltage, and "door ajar" warnings. You'll be able to choose which gauges you'd like to appear on the screen, and you'll even be able to check the engine codes when a warning light comes on.

In addition, the KIT-FTR1 comes with a convenient storage pocket to keep your smartphone device. The storage pocket includes flush-mounted USB ports (one USB-A and one USB-C), a full-size HDMI port, and a 3.5mm Aux input for your head unit (if applicable). Both USB ports support CarPlay and Android Auto functionality (with compatible headunit and phone).

Ford Sync: Retains the Ford Sync system; including Bluetooth hands-free communication and audio streaming, as well as USB media player.

Factory Amplifier: Retains factory amplifier with with turn-on, fader, DSP, and gain controls.

Steering Wheel Controls: Factory steering wheel controls are retained with two function buttons and expandable radio functions.

Flashing Module via Weblink Desktop: The iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 will need to be loaded with correct firmware before installation. The included USB cable plugs into your computer and allows you to "flash" the Maestro RR or RR2 with the appropriate firmware to prepare it for installation. Simply download Weblink Desktop (for Windows and Mac) onto your computer to access the appropriate firmware. System requirements include -
