Wales receives a lot of rainfall and with high levels of rain the plants have access to ample water to create a high quality nectar. That together with good quality soil makes it a fantastic location for nectar giving plants and for producing scrumptious honey. What is also quite unique about Wales is it's landscape. It has a vast changing landscape from sea cliffs, rolling green hills, majestic rivers running through valleys, forestry and mountain regions. Wales has it all. The honey is made up of nectar from the following trees and plants in the main Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Horse Chestnut, Bramble, Clover, Himalayan Balsam, Rosebay Willow herb, Dandelion, Cherry, various apple and plumb trees, Lime tree, Sycamore, Willow, Snow drops, Bluebells and Ivy.as well as a small amount of flowers and vegetables that are grown in people's gardens. All this adds a distinctive taste to the honey and no doubt one of the reasons it has won awards. Depending on what flowers the bees have foraged on and the temperature that the jar has been stored, the honey may fully crystallise in a short space of time.
