After immigrating from Russia to the United States, Isidor Leviton opened a small tin-smiting business in 1906, where he produced mantle tips used for gas lighting. With the invention of Edison’s light bulb, Leviton shifted to manufacture a single electrical product: the pull-chain lamp holder. During our earliest years in business, the population of New York City began to increase dramatically. Leviton supplied the switches, outlets, light sockets and other electrical parts for them. This AC Dual Power Module with surge suppression provides power to voice, video, audio, and data distribution modules – routers, switches, modems, audio distribution modules, and security modules – mounted inside a Leviton Structured Media Center enclosure. Equipped with TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppression) outlets, the AC Power Module provides protection from transient voltage surges, and is intended for use where sensitive equipment would benefit from protection against the damage caused by such surges. A green indicator light on the face of the unit, when continuously lit, indicates surge protection is in effect. When the indicator light is off, the receptacle is no longer providing suppression. When protection is lost, an audible alarm will beep continuously. This power supply easily drops into a cutout in the bottom of the Structured Media Center. This design allows you to install the power required without taking up valuable space inside the enclosure.

Leviton offers reliable surge protective AC Power Modules and J-Box kits. Both the AC Power Module and the J-Box kits work with the Series 140, 280 and 420 Structured Media Centers. Choose either surge protective for optimum protection or non-surge protective. The surge protected options provide EMI/RFI filtering that meets UL 1449 standards. The AC Power Modules feature two 15-Amp duplex receptacles and the J-Box kit features one 15-Amp duplex receptacle. This AC Power Module with surge suppression provides power to distribution modules, incorporating multi-stage protection from power surges. Designed to be used alone or as part of a whole house surge protection network. Connects to a dedicated 15 Amp AC power circuit to provide power to the distribution modules in the Structured Media enclosures. Incorporates two 15 Amp Outlets. Two cable knock-outs on bottom for power service connections. Safety clips protect outlets against dust, dirt and debris. In excessive power surges, a built-in alarm sounds to warn user that power is now unprotected.
