Bio Label

You can recognise the quality of the ingredients from the lavera organic label, which has been found on our product world since 2009.

For many lavera Naturkosmetik products, ingredients come from controlled organic cultivation, from Laverana's own production (organic plant ingredients, organic plant fluids, protein-rich organic plant complexes). Over 300 organic ingredients are used, and we produce more than 300 plant fluids or organic plant complexes ourselves.

Vegan Label

This label indicates which products are vegan, i.e., contain no animal products, and has been awarded since 1945 by the Vegan Society in the UK.

lavera has used this label since May 2004. Since then, around 95% of the lavera range is now vegan and registered with the Vegan Society. Lanolin and, to the greatest extent possible, beeswax have been phased out of the care formulas and replaced with herbal oils. Although vegan may not be synonymous with natural cosmetics, it shows the customer that a product only contains herbal ingredients.

Organic Macadamia Nut Oil

Origin

The macadamia nut – also known as "the queen of nuts" – originally comes from Australia (it is also called Australian hazelnut or Queensland nut). The macadamia is an evergreen tree approx. 15 m high, which begins to produce 2–3 cm large chestnut-like stone fruit after 7–8 years.

Effect

The hard shell conceals a precious nut which provides up to 70% pale yellow, fine, nutty oil. The so-called queen of nuts has a very high percentage of palmitoleic acid, also found in sea buckthorn pulp oil or avocado oil. The macadamia nut is rich in very valuable fats including omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids. has a smoothing effect and promotes regeneration.

The oil has outstanding properties when it comes to hair care. It is absorbed quickly and is very rich, providing noticeable intensive nourishment to brittle and dry hair and leaving it smooth and shiny.

Organic Shea Butter

Origin

Country of origin: Burkina Faso The shea butter we use in our products is from certified organic cultivation and comes from Africa. The shea tree, aka shi tree or carite tree, is 15 m in height and is similar to the European oak tree. In Africa shea trees are considered to be holy and therefore must not be chopped down or harmed. The "butter tree" reaches an age of up to 300 years and does not bear its full fruit until it is 25 years old. Only women are allowed to harvest and process its fruit.

Effect

Due to its protective, conditioning, nourishing and skin regenerating properties shea butter is also referred to as "women's gold". It melts at body temperature. As its structure is compatible to that of the skin it penetrates deep into the skin tissue where it develops its healing effect. By forming a thin film on the skin it supports its protective layer and prevents moisture loss. At the same time it provides natural sun protection. Shea butter softens and smoothes the skin.
