About Us

Blighty Booch Kombucha started in 2018. We are passionate about Kombucha and our search for the drink in the UK led us to making our own, from our Boochery in Conwy, north Wales. We use organic tea from the high mountains of Hunan Province, China to brew our Kombucha and make our Blighty Babies. Our authentic methods have produced award winning Kombucha that offers a delicious and healthier alternative to other soft drinks and alcohol.

What is SCOBY? “SCOBY” is an acronym meaning Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast. A SCOBY is the living home for the bacteria and yeast that transforms sweet tea into tangy, fizzy Kombucha.	Is it OK that my SCOBY has Sunk? Yes. Top, bottom, or somewhere in the middle are all OK. Sometimes the SCOBY likes to go for a swim, or even do a flip! If you find mold on your SCOBY then it's time to throw it out and start again.	What Tea Should I Use? Use the best quality tea you can - preferably organic. With only 3 ingredients (culture, sugar and tea), great tasting Kombucha relies on getting each element right. We recommend Blighty Brew Organic Loose Leaf teas...of course! Black tea will give you a smoother booch, green tea more bitter.	How do I Know When my Kombucha is Ready? This will depend on the conditions in your brew, and most importantly, on what taste you prefer (sharp or sweet). Give it a try and have fun experimenting with your brew.

Gut Friendly: Brewed using an ancient technique, kombucha is packed with friendly bacteria and is a healthier alternative to alcohol and soft drinks. Organically Sourced: Our premium organic tea, with its complex flavour, is sourced from the high mountains of Hunan, China. "Orange Pekoe" refers to the grade: an unbroken whole leaf tea with long wiry leaves. Endless Kombucha Supply: Look after your SCOBY baby and it will keep you supplied with naturally sparkling kombucha. This live culture of friendly bacteria and yeasts will produce 750ml of delicious kombucha from your first brew. Adjust fizziness, tartness and sweetness by experimenting with your brew.
