Is this dock compatible with USB-C ports?
- Yes, the dock works with computing devices (example: laptops, 2-in-1s, etc.) that have at least one available USB-C port. The USB-C port must support 5V/3A (15W) of power.
Does this docking station support device charging (i.e. will it charge my laptop)?
- For USB-C ports that support Power Delivery, yes. Please check the specs of your laptop or reach out to us and we can help you identify if your USB-C port supports Power Delivery
What operating systems does this dock support?
- Windows 10+ / macOS 11+ / iPadOS 13+ / Samsung DeX (for the best compatibility, please make sure that your host USB-C port supports 5V/3A of power.) For Samsung DeX, it is recommended to use the dock with a USB-C power supply unit.
Does this dock require software such as DisplayLink?
- No, this dock is plug and play, no software is required.
Is this dock compatible with computers that have a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 port?
- Yes, the dock is compatible with a laptop that has a Thunderbolt 3 or a Thunderbolt 4 port. However, it will not deliver the maximum bandwidth of Thunderbolt technology (40Gbps), but rather deliver what the dock supports (10Gbps).
What if my device has a USB-C port but it doesn’t support DisplayPort Alt Mode?
- Unfortunately, if your USB-C port doesn’t support Alt Mode, then you won’t receive video output. If this is the case, one of our USB-A or Hybrid USB-A/USB-C docks would work better for you.
Do I get both Qi charging and dock function in bus-power mode (when no power adapter is connected to the dock)?
- No, in bus-power mode you have to use the toggle switch to choose between the dock and Qi charging modes. However, when a power adapter (85W or greater) is connected to the dock, both dock and Qi charging are enabled simultaneously.
Does this dock support USB Power Delivery (PD)?
- Yes, this dock supports up to 100W of power pass-through using the laptop’s power supply (85W or greater). Optional 100W power adapter sold separately.
How many monitors does the dock support and what is the maximum resolution supported?
- Dual Monitor: 4K @ 60Hz (HBR3+DSC1.2) on Windows. A single monitor (up to 4K @ 60Hz) is supported on macOS, iPadOS and Samsung DeX. macOS supports dual extended monitors in mirrored mode only.
Does the dock support wireless charging for my phone?
- Yes, this dock provides Qi charging up to 10W (host USB-C port must support 5V/3A of power to enable full Qi charging)
Can this dock function as a wireless charging pad only (i.e. no laptop connected)?
- Yes, you can use this dock as a wireless charging pad with the braided cable magnetically stowed in the dock. To do this, a USB-C power adapter must be connected to the USB-C port on the front of the dock. When in this mode, no other device (iPhone, iPad, Android phone, etc.) can be connected to the USB-C port on the dock.
