Kastormed Honey Calcium Alginate Dressing pad is combined with Manuka honey and calcium alginate non-woven. Honey comes from the Leptospermum scoparium plant in New Zealand, which can effectively help wound faster healing.

Calcium Alginate is one kind of active natural ingredient extracted from the alginate, which can effectively absorb a large number of wound exudates to minimize maceration risk to the skin.

How does Calcium Alginate work

The honey is impregnated into a calcium alginate dressing. As wound fluid enters the dressing, the honey is released while the dressing absorbs it and forms a gel to create an optimal wound healing environment. Leptospermum Honey has been shown to have several active properties which assist in promoting an optimal healing environment, which has a low pH to help lower the overall wound pH which is beneficial to chronic wounds.

EASY TO USE


Disinfect and dry the area of the wound.	Remove the release film of the pad backing.	Place the slightly sticky honey side against the wound (the shape of the product can be cut if necessary).	Use secondary dressing to keep in place.

Tips & Advice

Do not use if the inner packaging is damaged.
If signs of clinical infection occur, consult a health care professional.
Please make sure the dressing pad 2" x 2" is bigger than the wound size.
Fix the dressing pad with a self-adhesive bandage and tube-like bandage or any other adhesive dressings.
Suggest using it in combination with our "silicone foam dressing" for better wound protection.
