Jojobaöl ist chemisch gesehen ein Wachs, welches durch Pressung aus den Samen des Jojobastrauchs gewonnen und anschließend raffiniert wird. Es ist sehr stabil und weist nahezu keinen Eigengeruch auf. Jojobaöl ist für jeden Hauttyp geeignet, aber besonders für kosmetische Formulierungen bei trockener, empfindlicher, fetter Haut und Aknehaut. Aufgrund seines hohen Anteils an hautpflegenden Gadoleinsäuren ist es sehr geschätzt. Reines Jojobaöl wird von der Haut schnell aufgenommen ohne zu kriechen oder einen Fettfilm zu hinterlassen. Es dringt bis in die untersten Hautschichten vor, wo es die Entzündungsherde direkt lindern kann. Es reguliert den Feuchtigkeitshaushalt, was die Haut glatt und geschmeidig macht, kann das Bindegewebe festigen und Faltenbildung vorbeugen.
