How to Apply Hydrocolloid Dressings

Clean wound with saline or wound cleanser, Pat wound dry with clean gauze. Apply a moisture barrier to periwound skin.
On deeper wounds, pack with wound filler as prescribed. Choose a hydrocolloid dressing which is 1-2 inches larger than wound.
Hold hydrocolloid dressing between hands to warm it so that it adheres better. Remove backing from hydrocolloid dressing.
Fold dressing in half. Apply dressing from the center of the wound outward. Smooth dressing from the center outward. Hold to improve the adhesion.

HYDROCOLLOID DRESSING USES : Suitable for post-surgical wounds, cuts, scratches, grazes, superficial and partial thickness burns, pressure ulcer (stage I and II), and venous leg ulcers etc. Not recommended for severe infections. DESIGNED FOR COMFORT : Excellent elasticity and self-adhesive - feels comfortable and easy for application. Low allergic adhesive layer keeps the allergy risk at minimum level. Helps skin to heal from the inside out. Extended wear up to 7 days. WATERPROOF & BREATHABLE : Hydrocolloid adhesive wound dressings are waterproof?breathable and sweat resistant. Provides a bacterial barrier. Breathable design provides ventilated comfort. Using hydrocolloidal bandages also help prevent scars or blemish from developing. TRANSLUCENT & CUTTABLE DRESSING : Allows the wound to be continuously monitored.
