Natural Licking Sticks are located throughout the deer woods and are an integral part of a whitetails communication. However, they are difficult to find and are overlooked by most hunters. The HODAG Licking Stick System gives you everything you need to start a licking stick where you choose, leveraging a deer's natural tendencies. Take Your Hunting to the Next Leven with These 3 Simple Steps


1. Bed & Anchor your FlexPlate After finding the perfect spot for your Licking Stick System, bed the FlexPlate below the topsoil (similar to bedding a trap) then pound in the two 12" rebar stakes provided until the plate flexes into the ground. Once anchored into solid ground, cover the base plate up with the dirt you removed, this will ensure your licking stick remains secure. The more level you bed your FlexPlate the easier it will be to balance your Licking Stick.	2. Cut Your Own Branch & Insert Into Spring When choosing a branch or sapling, keep in mind which species of tree deer use on your property. This is a great place to start. We find the most success with saplings that are about 5 feet tall. Remember this is a Licking Stick, not a scrape tree, bigger is not better with this system. If your spring is leaning your stick is too large. Trim more branches until it sits upright.	3. Apply AllSeason Activation Scent Apply AllSeason Scent to the stem and leaves of the Licking Stick using the dripper cap provided. Once deer begin using your setup, no more scent is needed as the deer will freshen your setup themselves. This is the final step to creating your year-round communal scent hub.
