This is it | I can finally end my 6 year search for a good audio replacement.I have spent hundreds of dollars over the last several years trying to replace the great audio experience I had with an on-laptop soundcard. I could always get close but never all the way there. Always 3% missing. This is the missing 3% in sound quality right here. The DAC chip on this cord does a really great job of delivering high quality sound. |
I got clean pure sound | This little dongle was definitely an improvement over the Apple USB DAC by far.Audio never distorts, volume adjustment is fine (no longer have to pump up the volume to 100%, my old volume setting right at 50% works fine), not missing sound cues in games that I play, etc. I can sense some improvement in audio processing latency, which is important to me as a gamer who plays competitive FPS, which heavily relies on hearing every sound exactly when it is played. |
Physically & operationally | this is a nice device. I already hate when I *have* to use a dongle, so, I want the dongle to "blend in" with the rest of the cabled headphones as much as possible. Operationally, it works well, and meets my expectations for sound quality. I tried with the Moondrop Aria, Tin HiFi T3Plus, and Moondrop Chus; sound quality was great with all of these, though a "notch" or two quieter with the dongle than just with the 3.5mm jack. |
Surprisingly good | I have a nice setup with a well regarded external DAC and have other portable DACs in my disposal. I was surprised by how well this adapter performed on high efficiency IEMs, though it is less suitable for large and less efficient headphones. It paired perfectly with my Klipsch X10 and did a much better job than other OEM adapter |
I'm not an audiophile | I'm doing some voice-over work and occasionally want to listen to recordings and things from the laptop rather than the interface. I have no way (nor the ears) to measure the true quality of this adapter but to my ears, the headphones plugged into this adapter sound great. I really do get more nuanced and balanced sound and can identify features and defects in my own recordings that went unnoticed before, so it's well worth having. |
Sounds Surprisingly Good | I, like 99% of the world's population couldn't possibly discern the difference between 24-bit 96KHz and 32-bit 384KHz. I can say however that 24-bit 96KHz sounds as it should to my ear so in every way that matters, the CX Pro is a winner |
HiRes Audio on every device! | this device has a fantastic audio circuit that provides clear noise free output that will easily drive my IEM's and my larger over ear cans that are 32 ohm or less. Over 32ohms amplification is needed as expected. Overall this is a fantastic plug and play adapter that will suit everyone from the audiophile to I just want music person, it will greatly improve your listening experience! |
Way better than other Adapter | I'm putting this through a pretty extreme test - and it passes beautifully. I'm taking computer audio (laptop) and running it into a sound board (on the same ground) and then amplifiying that signal. For reference, this usually produces a really bad groundloop buzz, or the cable acts as an amplifier which adds in noise. I've tried lots of options (including other adapter cables and ground loop lifters) with varying degrees of success. THIS ONE PRODUCES THE CLEANEST SIGNAL. |
