Describe your products in 3 words.
As Nature Intended
How did you come up with the idea for this product
Many human health issues (physical and mental health) are related to bacterial colonization, or lack thereof, in the human gastrointestinal tract. Contributing to that lack of colonization are the increased use and consumption of preservatives in our food supply, as well as other processes that irradiate, pasteurize and preserve our foods and beverages. While these processes extend the shelf life of products by eliminating "bad" bacteria, they also eliminate "good" bacteria. Prior to these processes, we ingested human-commensurate bacteria in a live and active state, and did so with frequency.
GoLive probiotic products are formulated to emulate nature and provide live and active bacteria when it counts: when you consume them. Our probiotics are sourced from the leading global researcher and producer of human-commensurate bacteria, and each and every one of the strains we use is clinically-researched, tested and documented to show impact on various health indications. Additionally, we source the highest quality, non-GMO soluble fibers, including acacia, larch and galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS), a fiber naturally found in mothers' breast milk and, arguably, the most efficacious fiber available for human consumption. Importantly, we also formulate all products with vitamin D3 and L-glutamine, both of which play a role in improving the condition of the epithelial lining of the gastrointestinal tract to allow for colonization of "good" bacteria (think of them as "primer" to ensure a healthy surface for bacterial colonization).
What makes your product special
Our products are formulated in partnership with MDs, PhDs and RDs to ensure their efficacy. In addition to our uniquely-formulated, synbiotic blends, our patented packaging and delivery formats ensure probiotics are live and active at consumption, as nature intended.
GoLive products contain trademarked, strain-specific probiotics that have been clinically-researched and found to impact various health indications. Unfortunately, many probiotic products use generic strains. As an example for clarification, Lactobacillus acidophilus is not the same as Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14. The "La-14" designates a specific strain that is produced under strict production control, including robust quality control, ensuring consistency, quality and efficacy. And while there is a significant cost difference between trademarked, strain-specific probiotics and generic probiotics, the difference is accompanied by a significant difference in quality and efficacy.
Lastly, many products place "probiotics" on a label, but do not provide human-commensurate bacteria in the products. In fact, many products contain spores (e.g., Bacillus coagulans, Bacillus subtilis) that are soil-based organisms intended for ruminants (e.g. cows, goats), not humans. Unfortunately, virtually every chewable/gummie, as well as all non-refrigerated food products, contain only spores. Moreover, kombuchas and juices contain yeast or spores, not live human-commensurate bacteria. Per the American Society for Microbiology, spores "…are not considered normal members of the intestinal flora and do not persist in the [human] gastrointestinal tract." And while a purveyor of a trademarked spore promotes the many clinical trials it has performed on its product, none of the studies is statistically significant, none holds up to rigorous peer review and none resulted in any meaningful conclusions of addressing a disease state and achieving a desired outcome.
What has been the best part of your experience
Each and every product we formulate allows us to engage with clinicians, practitioners, researchers, retailers and consumers. Our teams take great pride in being able to positively impact human health. Our product development effort is robust, and we will be introducing additional products with targetted applications, including another brand and product line. Stay tuned.
