Introducing texture: An important milestone in a baby's feeding development.
When? The time to do this is approximately 8 months when baby is crawling with their stomach off the floor and developing their chewing skills.
Why? While experiencing new textures, your baby learns oral motor skills - particularly moving his/her tongue side to side, mashing and chewing food together to prepare for swallowing. Each new texture is a new learning experience for baby.Beginner Texture - The texture of this Lil' Mixersâ„¢ product is at a Beginner levelThe puffed grain pieces are a perfect site and shape to be transferred to the side of baby's mouth for making and practicing early chewing.
Tips: The pieces soften as they sit in the puree and we suggest leaving for 5 minutes before feeding for optimal beginner texture. To increase the texture level beyond Beginner you can feed right after mixing.
Mixing: You can add a little, or a lot of the mix-in for baby, depending on how many times you've previously introduced this or other textures, and how comfortable you anticipate baby will be. Add a lil' or a lot!
