Our Type 1 and Type 3 are specialized medical orthotics for corrective purposes. Arches Orthotics are for both men and women. Our sizes correlate with the size you typically buy when you shop for shoes in the U.S. and they will fit correctly. When you receive the product, we recommend that you remove the insole that comes with your shoe (if applicable) and replace it with the Arches Orthotic for optimal correction and space. With our specialized materials, the orthotic can be trimmed at the toe to fit your shoe if needed. The Arches line of Orthotics by FootScientific provides balance of correction, comfort, and performance for both the athlete and the lay user. Three distinct designs balance and stabilize each of the three major foot types. The materials surpass comfort of most custom footbeds while retaining corrective features. The primary material, a cork amalgam, holds its comfortable shape over time with extra cushion for the heel and ball of the foot. Type 1: If you are confident you are a Pronator or have Òfallen archesÓ or Òflat footÓ you will find the Type 1 orthotic corrective and helpful for performance and alleviating pain. Arches Orthotics Type 1 posts a corrective wedge from end to end and brings the foot to a stable foundation for your body. This immediately takes pressure off the ankles and knees, which can ultimately affect alignment in the hip and back. The materials in the orthotic will also absorb shock, alleviating the foot and heel.
