Millet has been first farmed more than a thousand years ago and was regarded as a sacred crop in ancient China. In Italy it was widely used at the time of Romans as well as the early Middle Age when it was considered as an excellent subsitute for meat.

Use Fontana FORMIELLO farro as a base for salads or at the place of the rice in risotto recipes to make farrotto.
