Our 4th generation family tea farm was founded in the Meiji Era (19th century). Located in Uji, Japan, the main focus is to produce organic teas while preserving farming practices inherited from ancient traditions.

Premium Single OKUMIDORI Cultivar

We selected the superior OKUMIDORI cultivar for its fragrant sweet umami flavor & aroma. Shade-grown for 4 weeks, the OKUMIDORI leaves are induced to seek sunlight by widening more; resulting in higher production of chlorophyll & L-theanine in the leaves, giving our matcha a bold umami flavor with minimal astringency.

Rare Single Origin & Single Cultivar 'Vintage' Matcha

Standard matcha teas are blends of many cultivars from different farms across regions (predominantly low-quality ones to cut cost) to get a uniform taste every year.

Our 'vintage' matcha is from a single terroir, surrounded by mountains, rivers, clean air & rich soil. Our matcha taste profile changes slightly every year reflecting the conditions of soil, topography & climate, just like wine!

The OKUMIDORI leaves are prized for their resonant sweet umami flavor and aroma. The organic OKUMIDORI cultivar represents less than 1% of tea production today and is exclusively reserved for premium Sencha, Gyokuro and Matcha teas.
