Dieser Stahl enthält 1,45 Kohlenstoff, 14 Chrom, 4 Vanadium und 2 Molybdän. Dabei handelt es sich um einen besonders hoch legierten, korrosionsbeständigen Werkzeugstahl mit sehr hoher Verschleißfestigkeit. Die Gebrauchshärte liegt bei 57-59 HRC. Der Werkstoff ist aufgrund seines sehr hohen Gehaltes an Sondercarbiden zwar sehr verschleißfest, aber dadurch auch recht spröde. Zudem ist das Schärfen sehr schwierig. Daraus ergibt sich, dass feine und außerordentlich scharfe Schneiden nicht erreicht werden und stabile Schneiden erst ab Schneidenwinkeln von 40 und mehr gehalten werden können.
