Established in 1649 as an ironworks in a small Finnish village of the same name, Fiskars has grown to become a global supplier of consumer products for the home, garden and outdoors. In 1783, the ironworks was taken over by the Bjorkman family and production focused on processing copper ore from the nearby Orijarvi copper mine. By the nineteenth century there was little copper left to be mined in Orijarvi, so the blast furnace was closed in 1802. Since then there has been no basic iron manufacturing done in Fiskars Village.

Fiskars Acrylic Ruler features a highlighted seam allowance and easy-to-read grid lines that make cutting strips of fabric from the bolt a snap. It also includes broken grid lines for easy visibility of fabric edges, 30-, 45- and 60-degree line indicators and optional non-slip vinyl feet. Made of 3 mm-thick acrylic for lasting durability.

Optional non-slip vinyl feet can be added or removed without damaging the ruler. 30-, 45- and 60-degree line indicators make it easy to cut at perfect angles. Broken grid lines and easy-to-read measurements make measuring quick and accurate. Highlighted seam allowance makes it easy to cut fabric strips up to 3 inch wide directly from the bolt.
