What is the Fielder's Dome Mat

The Fielder's Dome Mat is a baseball and softball fielding training device backed by coaches and pros. Featuring nine rubber domes, which deflect the rolled balls randomly. The mat is constructed of durable plastic with rubber domes. It can be used on any flat surface – clay, natural grass, artificial turf, asphalt and concrete! It is approximately 33.5" long x 14.5" wide x 1.75" high.

What is the purpose of the Fielder's Dome Mat

The Fielder's Dome Mat acts as a training aid for both baseball and softball players of all levels and ages. This device builds your hand-eye coordination, reaction time, foot work, and fundamentals by simulating unpredictable deflections and pass-throughs for a fast-paced, game-like practice experience. Players can train using a glove or bare hands. 15-20 balls per minute can be rolled to the player. Within just 5 minutes, a player can receive field training of almost 100 repetitions. Practice one-on-one with a partner or set up a line of mats for the perfect team practice drill!

Where can you use it

The Fielder's Dome Mat works on any flat surface: clay, natural grass, artificial turf, asphalt and concrete. It can be used at home with parents rolling the balls to their kids, siblings sharing it, with a coach or partner at team practices. The Fielder's Dome Mat is also excellent for northern regions in the winter! It can be used indoors, in garages, basements or training facilities. This keeps fielders in good practice all year round. Proper Position of the Roller

To get the most of using the Fielder's Dome Mat, it is important for the roller to be kneeling, not standing or bent upright. The ball should be rolled as close to the ground as possible with some force behind it. Proper distance can be determined by the roller as they get used to rolling the balls at the mat. Begin at 10 feet from the mat and work outward. Some experience coaches are between 15-20 feet from the mat. The distance is entirely up to you.

If the domes are inserted properly, they will not pop off the mat. Testing has been done using a hack attack ground ball machine at 40 mph, far faster than most rollers.
