Batting gives quilts their cuddliness and that oh-so-coveted crinkly texture right when they come out of the dryer. It's important to choose the right batting loft and fiber contents for your quilt's end use. For quilts that will see a lot of wear, use a poly blend batting in a low loft that can be washed many times. For an heirloom quilt for cold winter nights, pick a lofty wool.

Poly-Fil; Extra-Loft; batting is a bonded 100% polyester quilt batting with medium loft that creates more dimension when hand quilting, making it a great choice for beginners. It is light and airy for year round warmth and comfort and will keep its shape year after year making it a wonderful batting for bed or baby quilts. It has an even give, so it works for hand or machine quilting, as well as whole cloth and tied quilts. It can be doubled to achieve a fluffier comforter look and feel. Poly-Fil; Extra-Loft; can also be used as an upholstery wrap to create the full plush cushions we all love. The 81 x 96 full size will fit both a full and double size bed and makes a great quilt for futons or camper beds. It will not beard and is washable after quilting making it a great choice for all quilting and crafting projects. Weight: 3. 5 oz. / sq. yd. and has about 3/8 loft.

Quick Tip: Sometimes the polyester battings get wrinkled in the packaging - if laying the batting out to breath doesn't remove the wrinkles - you can put it in the dryer on LOW with a damp cloth just for a few minutes, and they should disappear. Weight: 3. 5 oz. per square yard, loft about 3/8, quilting distance is 2"- 4". Bonded polyester won't beard or shift, and will retain its shape after washing. Light airy loft makes it easy to hand and machine quilt; perfect batting for everyday use quilts.
