EAST CAPE MANUKA OIL
East Cape Manuka Oil has been safely used in NZ and around the world during the last fifteen years in natural cosmetics and effective skincare products. It has been extensively researched and is used in Aromatherapy in NZ, Europe, and USA and been found to be beneficial for many skin problems.
East Cape Manuka Oil is the natural essential found in the leaves of the Manuka trees growing wild on the East Cape. The type of Manuka growing on the East Cape is a variety unique to the East Cape of New Zealand. The essential oil found in the leaves of the East Cape Manuka contains the highest levels of the active “triketone" compounds of any Manuka found in New Zealand and Australasia.
Distilled, bottled, and sealed in the remote and breathtakingly beautiful Te Araroa region of New Zealand's East Cape
Summers in Te Araroa can get very hot and humid. Under these conditions many plants suffer from a number of problems. But not the Manuka plants, which are always green and healthy.
What protects the Manuka trees? Manuka Oil! This oil accumulates in the leaves and stems, protecting the plant. This is the oil you get when you purchase our East Cape Te Araroa Manuka Oil.
"Manuka" is the Maori name for Leptospermum Scoparium, a native tree of New Zealand. It grows widely throughout the country and is found at altitudes ranging from sea level to subalpine and in many varying climates. Its role in the native forest is to nurture, protect and enrich the other native trees during infancy as a new forest is regenerated.
These trees grow prolifically on the East Cape. They are often found in harsh and exposed terrain and subjected to wild, wet and windy climatic conditions and still they thrive! The stubborn strength of these trees is imparted to the essential oil, which is stored in their leaves.. At flowering time these plain sometimes scraggy trees emerge heavily cloaked in small, delicate white flowers attractive to the bees which collect its nectar to produce a rich amber honey which is also known for its health giving properties.
Through their essential oils, leaves and honey the East Cape Manuka have begun to share their secrets with us and to share the source of their profound strength and durability.
