With Dr. Oetker Super Preserving Sugar 3:1 you can make even less sweet, but super fruity jams and jellies. You´ll need 1,500g of fruit or 1,250ml of fruit juice for one 500g pack of preserving sugar. It is also possible to use any commercially available juice or nectar to make a jelly (with the exception of grape juice). Dr. Oetker Super Gelling Sugar contains the vegetable gelling agent pectin, which is obtained from apples and citrus fruits. Since the gelling agent and sugar are already mixed, preparation is particularly quick and easy - ideal for beginners. For sweet and for sour jams as well. PREPARATION 1. Wash the fruit, remove the stalks or stones. Weigh 1500g, cut into small pieces or puree. Or measure out 1250ml fruit juice. Boil the jars and lids or rinse with very hot water. 2. Mix the fruit/fruit juice with the preserving sugar in a large saucepan. Bring everything to the boil while stirring and boil for at least 3 minutes until bubbling. Carry out a jelly test. 3. If necessary, skim the fruit mixture and immediately fill the jars to the brim. Close with lids, invert immediately and leave on the lids for about 5 min. TIPS: - Jelly test: Pour 1-2 tsp of the hot mixture onto a plate. If it does not set, continue cooking for 1 min. or, if using sweet fruit, stir in 1 sachet Dr. Oetker citric acid. - If using frozen fruit, defrost it first and use the resulting juice.
