From Dr. Cowan: The philosophy behind our company is simple and emerges from my almost 40 years of studying food and nutrition and from working with my patients. My conception of an ideal diet is one that includes a liberal amount of natural fats (grass-fed butter or ghee, coconut oil, olive oil) and proteins (wild fish, grass-fed land animals, pastured poultry and eggs) to build a balanced body, make hormones (fats), nourish our immune systems (fats and proteins) and obtain calories for energy (fats). These two categories of food should make up the bulk of most people's diets. The problem is, even for someone with a large garden, it's challenging, if not practically impossible, to eat even five plants a day. Dr. Cowan's Garden powders were created to address this problem.

Low Oxalate The nutritious greens in Dr. Cowan’s Garden Low-Oxalate Greens Vegetable Powers are low in oxalates that can lead to irritation and inflammation. The nutritious greens in this blend are naturally low in oxalates and are blanched before drying to further lower oxalate levels. 100 percent organic collards, lacinato kale, and mustard greens. The flavor is a sweet and mild onion-y flavor. To use, sprinkle on salads, eggs, rice and quinoa, buttered popcorn, steamed or roasted vegetables, fish or chicken. Add to smoothies, soups, stews, pasta, spaghetti sauce, really, anything you enjoy eating! One of our favorite ways to use Leek Powder is sprinkled over buttered and baked sweet potatoes. Many people don’t realize that the most nutritious part of alliums is their green shoots. We feature this part of the plant in our leek powder to enhance not only its flavor but also its nutritional power. The varieties we grow are King Richard and Autumn Giant. Leeks are an excellent source of Vitamin K, which helps regulate the body’s inflammatory process, and they also offer good amounts of manganese, Vitamin B6, copper, iron, folate and Vitamin C.
