macOS Troubleshooting:

With the arrival of the macOS Big Sur 11.0& M1 chip, the operating system applies a stricter security policy to (any) software that requires kernel extensions aka kexts (“kexts” - think of it as a MacOS version of “drivers”) . The STEPRO driver installation includes a system extension that is affected by this policy. As a result, the user now has to now explicitly enable/allow this system extension within ‘Security & Privacy’ in system preferences (after installation and before the software is allowed to run).

macOS Catalina 10.15 & macOS Big Sur 11.0: With multiple displays enabled you may experience issues with (multiple) screen recording. For more details please contact STEPRO support.

For Mac users, make sure that screen recording is enabled. Otherwise DisplayLink does not work properly.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Charging Problem: Our Dock Consume 8W-15W, Most laptops currently consume more than 65w. Make sure the output power of your charger is large enough. Our PD port supports 100W.
HDMI 2 CAN'T work: Make sure that your device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. if not support DisplayPort Alt Mode, it cannot support 3 monitors at the same time, HDMI 2 port can’t display. If you use USB-C to USB-A cable, the HDMI 2 CAN NOT output signal.
HDMI 1 CAN'T work: Please make sure that you have successfully installed the displaylink driver.
If you are using a Desktop Computer, HDMI 1 can't work, HDMI 2 and VGA works well.
HDMI signal cannot be transferred to DP signal; DP monitors are not supported.

Before you purchase, please confirm the native USB port of your laptop supports DP Alt Mode:

1. Thunderbolt 3/4: 40Gbps bandwidth, supports quadruple Displays.

2. USB-C 3.1 Gen 2: 10Gbps bandwidth, supports two or three monitors.

3. USB-C 3.1 Gen 1: 5Gbps(data transfer only) If installed the DisplayLink driver, only HDMI 2 can't output signals. HDMI 1 and VGA can work.
