Q: Will any T5 socket/stand work?

A: As long as it is rated for the lamp it can be used.

Q: Is this a slim tube?

A: Yes, T5 is a thin tube and is the latest type of fluorescent lamp.

Q: What fitting do I need to fit this?

A: You need a T5 Starter unit, easy to install the T5 bulb has 2Prongs at each end simply plug/push in the starter unit. The starter unit is quite heavy looks neat screwed in the back or underneath your Vivarium. To make it even neater, clip the wires to the ceiling, makes it look more professional. I’d recommend putting your T5 bulb in at a diagonal i.e Left front to back right or front right to back left, I personally think it gives better coverage inside your enclosure.
