How to use DAOkids

Take one tablet with a little water 20 minutes before main meals (3 times a day). DAOkids tablets have a gastroresistant coating that allows the enzyme diamine oxidase not to be released in the stomach, but in a delayed form in the small intestine, which is where it degrades the histamine ingested in the diet. The tablets should therefore be swallowed whole, without chewing, splitting or breaking before ingestion.

The DAO enzyme contained in DAOkids acts only in the intestine, is not absorbed and has no systemic activity, so it is considered a harmless product with no adverse effects.

How DAOkids works


Histamine function and metabolism Histamine is a molecule that is present in all foods in the daily diet, is also produced endogenously in the body, and mediates many biological processes such as inflammation, allergy, gastric acid secretion, neuromodulation and regulation of immune function. Under normal conditions, ingested histamine is degraded by the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) in the small intestine.	The problem If the metabolic activity of the DAO enzyme is reduced (due to genetic, pharmacological and/or pathological factors), the ingested histamine cannot be degraded and passes through the intestinal mucosa into the circulation causing the onset of fibromyalgia, muscle contractures and pain, chronic fatigue, osteopathic pain and the other gastrointestinal, dermatological and neurological pathologies associated with DAO deficiency.	The solution Diamine Oxidase (DAO) in DAOkids supplements the body's own enzyme, which is responsible for metabolising histamine. Taking one tablet of DAOkids before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and thus the ability to break down histamine. DAO deficiency is a disorder in the metabolism of dietary histamine that occurs in genetically predisposed individuals, causing a reduced activity of the enzyme DAO (Diamine Oxidase) that prevents the degradation of ingested histamine, which passes into the bloodstream and causes the onset of symptoms.
