When we were in clear aligner treatment chewies were a critical accessory to help seat aligners and sooth pain, especially when changing to a new set of aligner trays. Unfortunately those chewies were made out of silicone or an unlisted plastic which was hopefully BPA free. We set out to create an all natural alternative and found cork to be an amazing option!

Chewies don’t grow on trees but Corkies do! Cork is the outer bark of the cork oak tree and it has some pretty incredible properties. It is naturally sustainable and renewable as cork bark is harvested without damaging the trees. Cork is also recyclable!

Okay, so cork is an impressive material but does it make a good chewie alternative? YES!!! The unique elastic nature of cork gives it a great squishiness that is perfect for chewing.

We’ve designed Corkie to be double sided to give you two different options for firmness because sometimes you need a firm chew and on other more sensitive days a little more squish is appreciated.
