Hadjod is a fleshy plant that is widely documented in great detail in Ayurveda. Generally called Hadjod in Hindi, this perennial shrub belonging to the grape family has various other local names including 'Pirantai' in Tamil, 'Nalleru' in Telugu, 'Cannalamparanta' in Malayalam and 'Mangarahalli' in Kannada.
