The Carefree Connects also includes a hardwired switch kit for One-Touch operation inside of the RV cabin as well as remotely. This switch also acts as the primary power hub to power on the awning, LEDs, and wireless control module.
The Carefree Connects system utilizes Bluetooth technology for fast, easy, and reliable connection to your mobile device or the remote key fob. The BT Control Module acts as the "brains" of the system. It is installed directly behind the switch kit (see your RV manual for how your awning is controlled as this may vary) and gives the awning wireless, Bluetooth capability.
Want peace of mind in the wind? Prefer that your awning Auto-Retracts during inclement weather? Well, the BT Motion Sensor provides just that. It it a wireless, Bluetooth motion sensor that is to be installed in the motor side end cap. It detects motion on the awning and upon reaching a sustained amount of motion, automatically triggers the awning's retraction to keep it safe. The sensitivity of the motion sensor is adjustable.
Prefer to have a physical remote control as well as the mobile app? Well, we got you covered! The BT Remote is a Bluetooth remote key fob designed to control your awning remotely. You can extend, retract and control the LEDs using this remote.
The Carefree Connects mobile app offers those that have the Carefree Connects Wireless Awning Control System (BT12) direct control of their Carefree awning from a smart device. The app allows you to extend, retract, adjust the LED lighting's brightness and also adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor that controls the auto-retraction feature. The Carefree Connects mobile app is available on the Apple App Store and the Google play store and is free to download.
Pairing your control system to your smart device is simple and easy with the Carefree Connects mobile app. Simply put your awning into pairing mode by powering the switch kit to "On," then extend the awning. It does not have to be opened completely for pairing. Retract the awning. Upon full retraction, immediately press and hold the retract switch down for 3 seconds. That will enable your control module for pairing and the awning will appear on the Carefree Connects mobile app Awning Managment screen. Click on the icon that appears to connect to your awning. You can then repeat this process for other awnings and you can also name them so you know which awning you are paired to if you have more than one on your RV.
Because the Carefree Connects Wireless Awning Control System is available with an optional motion sensor and remote key fob, there is a place to ensure these components are connected and functional. The Peripherals screen gives you instant feedback on your the operation/connectivity status of your motion sensor and remote control. It will also list any notifications here like if your motion sensor was engaged for auto-retraction due to inclement weather. Knowing your awning is protected and giving your peace of mind so you can be Carefree while you are out RVIng!
The Carefree Connects mobile app also offers a variety of settings adjustments to make your awning operate exactly how you intended. This screen allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor so you can make it more sensitive to motion or less sensitive. Basically, how much motion do you feel the awning should sustain before it auto-retracts. The lower the setting, the less motion required for retraction. The higher the setting, then more motion is needed to engage the auto-retraction. There is also the ability to set a 4 digit passcode so nobody can access your awning from your device. Finally, the LED rollup button allows you to automatically disable your LEDs two minutes after retraction. This ensures that the LEDs stay off when the awning is closed. If you have LEDs at the rail and use them with the awning closed, ensure this is not checked so they stay on.
