About Us

Blighty Brew and Blighty Booch Kombucha started in 2018. We are passionate about Kombucha and tea, and our search for the drink in the UK led us to making our own. We import our organic tea from the High Mountains of Hunan China and use it to make our traditionally, slow and small batch brewed Kombucha.

The rise in popularity of Kombucha, and distinctive taste, has captivated many consumers keen to tackle their own health naturally, without medical interventions.We have identified that UK society is needful of this type of nutrition. During the current crisis; celebrating time together with Kombucha provides health and wellbeing benefits beyond simple alcohol reduction.

Aberystwyth University Findings...

A key factor in the investigation of the beneficial health-giving and wellness properties of Kombucha in humans is to investigate the metabolism and excretion kinetics of Kombucha, and the concentrations of key metabolites within the brew.

We are studying this with the WEFO funded Future Foods Programme at Aberystwyth University (2020), looking at 'Functional Foods', using high resolution metabolomics and quantification methods.

The key to Blighty Booch's kombuchas health halo include:
