The origin of Biotopos is from the village of Christianoupolis in Messenia the southern part of Greece, an area recognized for producing superior quality extra virgin olive oil, which is valued each year as the most expensive in Greece.

Organic cultivation of the olive grove is entirely performed the natural way. The early selective harvest of the single grove is made traditionally ??by hands. The transportation of the olives to the mill and the cold extraction is completed the same day after harvest, in order to avoid oxidation and to protect the olive oil's nutritional integrity. Thoroughly implemented procedures and quality control ensure the lowest possible acidity and maintain the most of the beneficial health properties.

With strong fresh aroma of unripe olives, green apple and thyme, bitter with a spicy dose after taste this premium olive oil will ideally accompany your sophisticated dishes.

With dry farming we may lose in volume but we certainly win on nutrional value.

Our olive estates scattered along the foothills of mount Aegaleon are well protected by the north winds and thanks to the beneficial Mediterranean climate we choose to dry farm.

Well established olive trees have a much deeper and extensive root system that dig deep into the soil to find water and other nutritious ingredients, contributing this way to the olive oil’s unique character of the area. Specialists call this ‘terroir’ and it’s the thing that fills the mouth with flavors and unforgettable after taste. Trees that are cultivated with dry farming create a thick peel in the fruit which prevents parasites to downgrade the produced oil. This method results in smaller olives filled with nutritious value and ingredients that give shape to the strong personality of these unique extra virgin olive oil. At each step of the way, from organic farming practices to pruning, picking and milling, the olives from our groves receive the best possible care. It is surely not the easiest way to farm but is the best.

Gently pull and twist the cork. When serving you may use a table spoon or a pourer to easily regulate the flow. The wooden lid is attached to the cork with natural glue. It is unusual to have any failure, in this case please use a wine opener and the cork will pop out easily.
