Troubleshooting: COMMON EXTENSION TAPE PROBLEMS

If your hair is slippin' - don't be trippin'! 95% of the time problems with tape extensions are due to missing a step.

Every wonder why your tape extensions fall or slip out? Other tape in hair extension brands use an inexpensive tape that just can't keep up with today's lifestyles.

Most people wearing tape in hair extensions aren't properly educated on how to take care of them while wearing them. There are definitely some things you need to know to make sure your hair extensions stay your little secretSlipping Issues: Too much hair in between the “tape sandwich” can cause the panels to not properly stick to each other.

• When did the slipping occur? Was it after the recommended 48 hour “cure time” but still within the first week of application? If so, more than likely that was an application error on . Double check your work.
• Slipping after a reapp? Did you use your Removers correctly? When removing tape ins make sure you are using an alcohol based remover like Big Kizzy’s Remove & Reuse 1. Are you pressing the tape sandwiches together at least once a week? See Press It Real Good Rule?.
• Wait 48 hours before working out, wetting, or shampooing the hair. This allows your tapes time to properly set so they don't slip or fall out.
• Are you using the Blueberry Sealing Tool? Using a sealing tool will ensure that all air pockets are eliminated and that the tape is secure to the panel and the client’s hair.
• Have you properly consulted with your client on the do’s and dont’s of tape in extensions? If your client is new to tape in extensions taking the extra time to thoroughly go through the consultation will make sure they are set up to win.
• Only use products designed to care for extensions. Use an extension friendly shampoo like our Big Kizzy F.A.T.T. Shampoo/Conditioner and Chemical Love Affair Shampoo/Conditioner.
• All MY TAPES FELL OUT AT THE EXACT SAME TIME - The first thing you need to have when wearing tapes is a sense of humor. Things happen sometimes. Just keep in mind that you are literally taping someone else’s hair onto your own. Do a little troubleshooting - chances are may have skipped a step.
