Bacon Up Bacon Grease is actual, genuine bacon grease that is generated when our partner/supplier produces pre-cooked bacon and bacon bits for some of the country's largest and best known restaurants and retailers. It would be a shame to let something so precious go to waste! So we capture it, filter it three times to remove the bits of meat that can spoil, add a small amount of BHA -- an antioxidant that helps protect the flavor, and then package it as Bacon Up. Bacon Up should be stored at a temperature below 80°F. Although not required, it may be refrigerated if you prefer a firmer consistency.
The bacon may have been cured with other ingredients, including possibly salt, sea salt, sugar, brown sugar, smoke flavor, etc. -- but no reportable amount of any of these cures transfer to the fat. The approved Nutrition Facts panel lists 0 grams per serving of Total Carbohydrates, Total Sugars, and Sodium.
