To meet the growing demand for Raspberry Pi compatible camera modules. The Arducam team has now released another fully compatible add-on mini camera module for the Raspberry Pi series boards.
The board itself is small, about 25mm x 24mm, making it ideal for mobile or other applications where size and image quality are important. It connects to the Raspberry Pi via a short ribbon cable. The camera is connected to the BCM2835/BCM2836 processor on the Pi via a CSI bus that runs along the ribbon cable that connects the camera board to the Pi.
The sensor itself has a native resolution of 5 megapixels and has an onboard fixed focal length lens. In terms of still images, the camera is capable of capturing 2592 x 1944 pixel still images and also supports 1080p30fps, 720p60fps and 640x480p60/90fps video.
