The story of Arataki Honey began when 17-year-old Percy Berry was asked to help a neighbour to remove a swarm of bees from a tree. From that single swarm began the dream of one day becoming a full-time beekeeper. Today, family owned Arataki Honey has three manufacturing sites across the North and South Islands of New Zealand, employs over 100 people and is home to 1.5 billion bees. Arataki Honey works under several compliance licenses including Exporter License, Site Compliance Certification, Certificate of Kashrut, New Zealand and UMFHA.UMF 17 certified unpasteurized Manuka Honey, the content of methylglyoxal (MGO) 631 mg kg. 100 Natural and Pure. ARATAKI's processing is kept to a minimum. They lessen heat-treating and avoid pasteurization (a process that can damage the UMF levels long-term and alter the quality).
