Antonio’s Raw Certified Organic Heather honey is a very popular classic variety and an award winner in the Great Taste Awards. It has a superbly rich and deep flavour. It is mildly bitter but complimented by a balanced sweetness, which is hard to describe as nothing quite compares. It is just simply stunning! This particular honey is brown in colour, showing slightly red in the light. Heather honey tends not to stay runny for long due to a high glucose content. It develops small to medium crystals fairly quickly after harvesting, it is quite rare to get it completely runny. This particular type of heather honey comes from the plants Erica Vagans and Erica Cinerea. Heather honey is noted for being one of the best honey varieties you can find. This variety of heather honey comes from the northern mountain ranges of Madrid in Spain known as Sierra De Guadarrama. The heather shrub also known as Brezo in Spanish is a small mountain hugging evergreen which produces many flowers and loves acidic soils. Heather honey is particularly good mixed into Greek yoghurt, poured over ice creams, used as glazes for meats and for adding a unique zing and depth to a dish. This honey is made by the bees of Antonio Simon, a 4th generation beekeeper who takes pride in producing his honey in a traditional way without adding or taking away anything. Antonio's hives are based in the mountain ranges north of Madrid. His bee-keeping practices and the land his hives are on have been certified as organic by the Committee of Organic Agriculture in Madrid. INGREDIENTS Raw Organic Unpasteurised Honey SAFETY WARNING Raw honey is not suitable for children under the age of 12 months.

RAW HONEY NATURALLY CRYSTALLISES OVER TIME. If yours has crystalised and you prefer it runny, place it on a radiator and drape a tea towel over it. Leave it overnight. The heat will not damage the honey, the important thing is that you don't heat the honey beyond 40 degrees (the hive can get this hot in Summer). If the radiators are very hot then a thin book under the jars to shield them from direct heat. It can take up to two days to fully liquify. NO SUGAR FEEDING. This honey is tested to ensure no sugar feeding or pesticide contamination. Produced in wild & remote places away from crop spraying and pollution.
