Ampersand's Pastelbord is a medium textured, highly absorbent surface designed for pastels. Pastelbord is crafted from our premium warp-resistant 1/8" profile Hardbord that is protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal and coated with an acid-free clay and gesso ground with a marble dust finish. The tooth of the marble dust finish holds more layers of pastel than paper and it is versatile enough to be used with wet and dry applications.

Truly Archival Every Pastelbord panel is protected by our proprietary Archiva-Seal barrier technology, the most advanced formula for sealing wood that prevents support induced discoloration.	FSC-certified and Artist Safe Central to Ampersand’s mission is to ensure that our products do not harm the environment or the artists who use them. Both our domestic and imported panels are made from FSC-certified forest products that promote sustainable forests and are also free from formaldehyde or harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds), unlike other hardboards and MDF boards.

Ampersand Pastelbord is a gesso and clay coated hardboard panel with a granular marble dust finish. The result is a textured board comparable to sanded pastel paper, but much more durable and versatile. Since it has a hardboard backing, Pastelbord can be used with wet or dry pastel techniques, as well as acrylics. The museum quality surface is non-yellowing and ph neutral. Available in multiple colors and sizes. Single panel, 14 x 18 x 1/8 inches, Gray finish.
