Lunigiana honey PDO Lunigiana honey is the first Italian honey to obtain from the European Union the Protected Designation of Origin – DOP, the highest recognition of the typicality of a product. The production area includes the 14 municipalities of Lunigiana north of Tuscany, whose typically mountain landscape has a very varied vegetation with a particular spread of acacia and chestnut forests, very valuable plant essences from the apistic point of view. This fact, combined with a tradition that dates back with certainty to the late 1400s and the low degree of industrialization, creates an environment suitable for the performance of a quality beekeeping with the production of acacia honey and chestnut with excellent chemical-physical and organoleptic characteristics. INGREDIENTS honey

Use overnight as a sweetener in coffee or milk - 400g glass pack. It is a valid accompaniment to fresh cheeses such as ricotta, but it achieves perfection accompanied by aged cheeses such as Pecorino Toscano PDO or Parmigiano Reggian or DOP. In the kitchen it goes well with strong flavours, ideal for lacquering meat. Liquid, may have partial crystallization over time, in the presence of bush nectar. Dark amber, often with reddish hues. Marked, aromatic, pungent scent. Not too sweet taste, with almost always bitter aftertaste. Intense, tannic, very persistent aroma. On acacia flowering, it is harvested from the second half of June to the first half of July in the area of Lunigiana. From organic farming Lunigiana PDO honey with acacia flower.
