Origin - Our whey originates from Friesian Jersey crosses on the coastal grasslands of southeast Ireland. AGN Roots Grassfed Whey is the ONLY grassfed whey sourced exclusively from farms certified by A Greener World, the single accredidiation body with an "entire life on pasture-based" animal welfare certification. This certification can not be purchased.

We have pursued the Animal Welfare Approved certification by A Greener World (non-profit) and are recognized by the ASPCA (non-profit) as the ONLY grassfed whey on their Certified Brand List (Shop-with-your-heart). Ruminant animals are healthiest & happiest when on diets designed for their bodies. Happy cows on dairy farms will naturally produce high-quality, nutrient-rich milk when the proper environment is created. This nutrient-rich milk represents the immense value of our truly grassfed whey isolate. Our grassfed whey contains more BCAAs, more whey protein macro-nutrients, and up to 3 times more cysteine than conventional feedlot sources.
Environment - Ireland is one of the lowest carbon-emitting countries globally, naturally blanketed by grasslands, which cover over 80% of the country in total. Sustainable pastures with grass growing year-round & farming practices that require zero chemical or GMO intervention, our farms produce milk with the lowest heavy-metal concentrations far exceeding CA's prop 65. Our thermally stable pouches protect our delicate protein fractions from heat & UV rays and have a packing efficiency of 35:1 (product to packaging ratio) compared to PET rigid plastic tubs (10:1), which further reduces transportation-related emissions.
Proposition 65 (California Residents) - Claims that 0.5 mcg of lead in a day is a threshold that represents an exceedingly low level that is, by law, 1000 times less than the highest level of lead known by California NOT to cause reproductive harm. AGN Roots Grassfed Whey heavy-metals test results will show a Lead Concentration of < .005 mg/kg (ppm). Our grassfed whey contains up to 100 times lower concentrations of heavy metals (Mercury, Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium) than the typical "grass-fed" whey supplier.

Truly Grass-Fed - Although many whey protein products market themselves as "grassfed," over 99% are in the business of misleading consumers and taking advantage of the lack of regulation around this claim. We encourage our communities of health & nutrition enthusiasts to recognize brands making the "grassfed" claim without the commensurate sourcing details or accreditations. Supporting unverified brands often leads to unrecognized support of CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations) known for their destructive environmental impacts and wild abuses toward animals. Our animals live on the order of 20 years, with 95% of their diets on pasture with the remaining 5% on that same grass but packed and wet (fermented ensilage) for dense nutrition during critical stages in development (early lactation and gestation).
Verified Grass-Fed - Unlike most supplement protein brands sold in the U.S.A., in Ireland, the Irish Food Board, Bord Bia since November 2019 launched on a national scale, the first globally recognized grass-fed dairy standard verification process which was approved by INAB (Ireland National Accreditation Board). This process allows the agricultural regulatory bodies to track and verify the percentage of grass consumed in each dairy herd diet giving birth to authentic accredited grass-fed whey claims.
